Attorney General Labrador’s Office Arrests Canyon County Man for Alleged Exploitation of a Child

BOISE, ID – Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested 29-year-old Andrew Avelar on April 6, 2026, on two (2) counts of possession of child sexual exploitation material. These charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The ICAC Unit was assisted in this arrest by Nampa Police Department, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Boise Police Department, and Meridian Police Department.

The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children.
