Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that Kolby Jake Amy, 30, was convicted of three counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography). Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Amy was sentenced on September 28, 2026 by Gem County District Judge Brent Whiting.
In June 2025, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit received multiple CyberTips that an online account belonging to Amy was in possession of multiple files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). After getting a search warrant for the account, a plethora of CSAM files were found within this account along with indicators that Amy owned the account. A search warrant was executed on Amy’s devices in November of 2025, where hundreds of CSAM files were found on his cell phone. Further evidence showed, and Amy admitted, that he would purchase CSAM files using cryptocurrency. The files found in Amy’s case primarily depicted female children who were approximately 7 to 10 years of age. The children were shown nude or being used for sexual acts with third parties.
Judge Whiting imposed a total unified sentence of 30 years with 7 years fixed. Upon release, Arnold will have to register as a sex offender pursuant to Idaho law.
This case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Madison Gourley. The case was investigated by Idaho ICAC Investigators, assisted by Emmet Police Department, Idaho State Police, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, and Nampa Police Department.
