(Boise) – Attorney General Lawrence Wasden has announced investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested a Coeur d’Alene man early Thursday for possession of child pornography.

34-year-old John V. Mitchell is suspected of using the internet to share digital images and videos of children being victimized. He was booked into the Kootenai County Jail following his arrest.

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department, Post Falls Police Department, U.S. Marshals Service, F.B.I and Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation.

The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children.
