(Boise) – Investigators with the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit have arrested a man from Meridian on five counts of child exploitation.

Attorney General Lawrence Wasden says 27-year-old Bogdan Lyashchuk was apprehended Wednesday at his home.

Investigators began focusing on Lyashchuk after receiving 12 CyberTips alleging he was downloading child pornography from the Internet.

The case remains under investigation.

Wasden praised investigators from the Boise Police Department, Meridian Police Department and the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office for their cooperation.

The Idaho Attorney General’s ICAC Unit is a coalition of state and local law enforcement agencies that work with the ICAC Task Force to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the Internet to criminally exploit children.
