Attorney General Raúl Labrador announced that investigators with the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested 24‑year‑old Micah Kender on October 6, 2026. Kender was taken into custody on preliminary charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Visual Representations of Sexual Abuse of Children. Additional charges related to possession of CGI CSAM and distribution may be filed pending the completion of forensic examinations of his devices. These charges are allegations only; the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The ICAC Unit received assistance during the arrest from the following agencies:

  • A Deputy Attorney General and Digital Forensic Examiner (OAG)
    • The FBI local field office, which assisted with the search
    • The Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office

    • Coeur d’Alene Police Department Detectives and the Community Action Team

The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works closely with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a statewide coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating and prosecuting individuals who use the internet to exploit children.
